Andrew Loveday is a British filmmaker whose career has become deeply intertwined with one of the UK’s most enduring gangster film franchises. As a producer, writer, director, and actor, he has contributed to the Rise of the Footsoldier series across nearly two decades, making him one of its most versatile and committed creative figures.

Rise of the Footsoldier Franchise

Loveday’s connection to the franchise spans its entire modern era. The Rise of the Footsoldier series is a British gangster franchise rooted in true events, drawing on the autobiography of Inter City Firm hooligan turned gangster Carlton Leach, with later entries focusing on drug dealers Pat Tate and Tony Tucker, who were killed in the Rettendon murders of 1995.

Loveday is credited among the writers and directors who have shaped the franchise alongside Julian Gilbey, Will Gilbey, Ricci Harnett, Zackary Adler, and Nick Nevern.

On Screen as Terry Fisher

Beyond his behind-the-scenes work, Loveday is a familiar face within the franchise itself, regularly appearing on screen as the character Terry Fisher. He reprised the role across several entries, including Rise of the Footsoldier 3: The Pat Tate Story (2017), Rise of the Footsoldier 4: Marbella (2019), and Rise of the Footsoldier: Vengeance (2023). He also appears as Fisher in Rise of the Footsoldier: Ibiza. His first connection to the series stretches back even further, with an uncredited appearance in the original Rise of the Footsoldier (2007).
