Stephen Marcus
Born on 18 June 1962 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, Stephen Marcus is a British actor whose career spans film and television across several decades. He is perhaps best recognised by British audiences as the memorably scheming Nick the Greek in the landmark gangster film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), a role that cemented his place in British cinema history.

Marcus’s film work is impressively varied. Alongside his iconic turn in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, he appeared in Angela’s Ashes (1999), the literary biopic Quills (2000), and the acclaimed Iris (2001). He played Big Mike in Kinky Boots (2005) and Ted Ray in The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005), demonstrating considerable range across genre and tone.
His international profile grew further with roles in major Hollywood productions, including Speed Racer (2008) and the action thriller Ninja Assassin (2009), in which he played the Kingpin. More recently, he appeared in Eliminators (2016) as George.
