A second feature-length retelling of the Rettendon murders, released three years after Julian Gilbey‘s original Rise of the Footsoldier. Director Sacha Bennett uses the real names of the three victims and follows the firm‘s story from the late 1980s through to the December 1995 killings.
Cast crossovers with ROTF
- Tamer Hassan plays Tony Tucker. Hassan joins the Rise of the Footsoldier franchise in 2025 as Colonel Sullivan in Ibiza.
- Vincent Regan plays Pat Tate.
- Terry Stone appears in a supporting role. Stone went on to play Tony Tucker across multiple ROTF films.
- Adam Deacon, Dave Legeno (who also appeared in the original ROTF as Big John), Neil Maskell (who played Darren Nicholls in the original ROTF).
Sequel
A sequel, Fall of the Essex Boys (2013), continued the story with a different cast.
